Peter Isaacson (Non-Executive Chairman)
Peter is well known for his distinguished wartime career as a pilot in the Pathfinder Force in Europe. He was awarded the DFC, AFC and DFM. Since the war his name has become synonymous with suburban newspapers. He founded and was Managing Director of Peter Isaacson Publications for over 40 years and more recently served as Director of APN News & Media Ltd. Thousands have read his regular editorials in the "Southern Cross". He was an honorary ADC to Queen Elizabeth II and has been Chairman of the Shrine of Remembrance. He was awarded the Order of Australia in 1991 for services to the community. Peter is of the same generation as the residents of Greenways many of whom remember his war-time exploits. He is a popular visitor to the village.

Jonathan Forster (Managing Director)
Jonathan was born and educated in England. In 1970 he came to Melbourne to help establish an office for Chesterton & Sons, a London based firm of Chartered Surveyors. In 1973 he founded Kane Constructions and is now Executive Chairman. Since 1997 he has been a Director of Holmesglen College of TAFE. He is a Past President (1998 - 2000) and now Honorary Life Member of the Master Builders Association of V ictoria and Past State and National President (1992 - 1995) of the Retirement Village Association. He was a Director of Incolink, the building industry redundancy fund in Victoria (1996 - 2006) and Over Fifty Group Ltd and The Over 50's Mutual Friendly Society (1999 -2007).

Murray Chessell (Non-Executive Director)
Murray has practiced as a solicitor for more than 30 years and was senior partner of Chessell Williams prior to his retirement in 2008. He was a Director and then Chairman of Over Fifty Group Ltd. and The Over 50s Mutual Friendly Society (1997 - 2007). In his youth Murray represented Australia as a gymnast at the Mexico Olympics and was President of the Australian Gymnastics Federation, a Director of the Australian Commonwealth Games Association Inc. and a Director of the Australian Commonwealth Games Foundation Ltd. Murray was awarded the Order of Australia in 2002 for services to gymnastics.

Tony Isaacson (Non-Executive Director)
Tony has been a Director of Greenways Village for the past 14 years. He has worked for Kane Constructions since 1979 and is now a major shareholder and Managing Director of that company. His expertise is in construction with a special interest in restoration and construction management. He has managed projects in Australia and overseas including Papua New Guinea, East Timor, Pakistan, China and the Pacific. As with all the Directors Tony takes a keen interest in the management of Greenways Village, the maintenance of the village asset and the welfare of the residents.

Richard Alston (Non Executive Director)
Richard is currently a company director and corporate advisor, as well as an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Information Technology at Bond University, Queensland. From 2005 until 2008 he was Australian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, from 1986 until 2004 he was a Senator for Victoria and from March 1996 until October 2003 he was a senior Cabinet Minister, being Deputy leader of the Government in the Senate as well as Minister for Communications, Information Technology and the Arts. Prior to entering Parliament he practiced as a barrister in Melbourne and was active in a number of leading non government organisations, especially in the field of overseas aid. He holds five university degrees.

Rob Lucas (Finance Director)
Rob has over twenty-five years experience as a Chartered Accountant working for construction and development companies in Australia and overseas including John Holland, Heytesbury Holdings and Julliard Group before joining the Greeenways team in 1997. He brings his professional accounting and financial skills and extensive business experience to the Board of Greenways. |
